CONTRIBUTING DATA TO OUR SITE
Whenever you make use of a feature that allows you to contribute data to our site you must comply with the content standards set out below.

PROHIBITED USES
You may use our site only for lawful purposes. You may not use our site:

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site, and in the material published on it, but you own the intellectual property rights in the Data Contributions that you contribute to our site. However, any and all database rights or copyright in any databases or other aggregated data compiled by us from Data Contributions (or any part of the data contained in any Data Contributions) shall belong to mc2.
Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material on our site must always be acknowledged.
You must not use any part of the materials on our site for commercial purposes (which includes any use by you in the course of your employment, or any use which is not by you as a private individual) without obtaining a licence to do so from us.
At any time while our site is available you may download a record of Data Contributions that you have uploaded onto our site (Data Download). You may use this Data Download for personal use only, and may not use it for commercial purposes or allow anyone else to use it for commercial purposes. However, you own your Data Contributions, so you may freely use and disclose without restriction the underlying data that you originally collected and on which your Data Contributions are based. You may print off, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our site for your personal reference only.
USE BY THIRD PARTIES OF DATA CONTRIBUTIONS
You agree that:
we may make available your Data Contributions (whether or not aggregated with other users' Data Contributions) to third parties, including (by way of example only) to local record centres, national schemes and societies and to organisations responsible for the environmental management of specific areas or sites.
any third parties to whom we disclose your Data Contributions shall be entitled to use and to disclose your Data Contributions in accordance with their privacy policies from time to time, or to decline to use your data as such third party sees fit in its absolute discretion.
VIRUSES, HACKING AND OTHER OFFENCES
You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs, code injection attacks or SQL injection attacks or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack.
